Trend vs Taste

When you look into your wardrobe, what do you see? Do you see a theme of the kind of cloth that you have?

Let’s face it, each person is different. Human are like snowflakes, no two person are alike. This goes the same to the taste that we have towards our fashion. Some might like graphical designs, some might like typography designs and some might just like a plain shirt.

What is a trend?

Look in a dictionary and you will see the word trend defined as

the general course or prevailing tendency;
style or vogue;

Look in the context of the social media, what is trending is the current hot topic.

So where does trend comes in for T-shirt? Well, T-shirt like any other fashion articles, has a design trend. Let us look back over the years. There were different types of T-shirt that was a must have during its peak. Bathing Ape as an example was hot during the early 2000’s. A lot of people would jump on the hype train and buy the BAPE T-shirt or apparel but sooner or later the hype died down and people are no longer queuing up to get it .

What about taste?

Whether we like it or not, trend comes and go but what remains is our taste. So let us look back into your wardrobe. What you have there is a collection of what your taste is. But your taste is not going to be the same as another person. You can see that different people wear different style but that is the nature of life.

Where do we come in?

We, at Aereen, understand that different people have different taste. So when we decided to release our t-shirt designs, we planned for the variety of people out there. We know that you won’t like all of our designs but that’s okay.

We are not saying that we don’t follow trends. That’s far from it. What do follow the latest trend but we tend to gravitate toward designs that are timeless. What this means, the designs that we choose to produce are designs that you would not only wear during the release of the design but you would wear 10 – 20 years down the road.
